First Lieutenant Michael Swope was a member of the second expedition through the Stargate to Abydos.

About[]

He was a member of the United States Air Force that was selected to join then Colonel Jack O'Neill's team that went through the Stargate for the second time on 8 February 1997.

Biography[]

Born in the state of New York, Joshua Currin joined the United States Air Force at the age of sixteen. On Friday 7 February 1997 the Stargate is activated by the Goa'uld Upper System Lord Apophis who kills several airman and kidnaps Airwoman Carol Wetterings. The next day he and Joshua Currin are selected to join Jack O'Neill's team which is going through the Stargate to determine where the enemies came from. Arriving on Abydos alongside Major Charles Kawalsky, Captain Samantha Carter and First Lieutenant Louis Ferretti they are greeted by armed Abydonians. Dr. Daniel Jackson and tells both sides to lower their weapons. They have a meal together and Dr. Jackson reveals that the Stargate goes many places. He then stays to guard the gate with Ferretti and Currin while the others go to check out the gate addresses. Apophis then comes through the gate killing him, Currin and many Abydonians.He served with distinction until his death and secured the foundation for us, the Tau'ri to become a Grade 8 Civilization. His name will forever be remembered due to the monument of bravery on P2C-112.
